SEVEN DEADLY SPINS: 10/8/12-10/14/12

Sorry for the quick post (and lack of posts this week), but I’m spending my fall break in New York for CMJ and it’s been hectic hectic hectic since I got here. This week’s Seven Deadly Spins are a mix of CMJ bands, New York bands, and 90s-themed songs. Hopefully I’ll be able to post about CMJ’s panels while I’m here, provided I can find a decent wireless connection. Regardless, expect tons of live tweeting — follow me @iamaledelgado! — and a wrap-up post next week.

Bonus:

For my first night in NY, my journalist friend took me to a warehouse called Delinquency, aka “number four on [her] list of top five sketchiest venues,” to see some local bands. They were all great, but the one that stood out the most was Clinical Trials, a grungy chick guitar/drum duo who impressed me with a fuzzy, dark cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow.” Check it out below!
