Belmont University – Nashville, Tennessee

I’ll graduate in 2013 with a double major in Music Business and Honors Humanities!

Wow, isn’t our campus pretty!

Here’s some stuff I did in my classes:

  • Headed the design team for the new PR at Belmont departmental website (debuting January 2013)
  • Developed marketing plan for ZOO TV‘s 2013 album release, including research and plans for advertising, new media, music videos, synch licenses, and retail/distribution
  • Created a social media campaign and marketing plan for my fake band, Satan’s School 4 Gurls
  • Developed social media guidelines for Robby Hecht
  • Became President of Belmont Service Corps, during which I facilitated major changes in our organizational structure and mission statement to build a stronger community of students who are working to gain music industry experience AND organized trips to the Grammy Awards and Sundance Film Festival (phew, that was a mouthful)
  • Admitted my nerdiness and joined the Leadership track of the Honors Program, during which I was part of a team that worked with Book ‘Em, a local non-profit, to develop a summer program that got books into the hands of  children from lower-income families
  • Penned typed a thesis on Jay-Z’s artist brand and then had the audacity to include recommendations for improvement (see below)

Here’s what I do:

Infinity Cat RecordingsSocial Media Manager: August 2010 – Present

  • Supporting fan community by creating content for and updating social media networks
  • Manage WordPress site, including blog posts and online store
  • After promotion, hired and supervised high school and college interns
  • As intern, streamlined system for tracking online sales, touring sales, and artist expenses
  • As intern, completed and submitted weekly sales reports to Warner Music Group

Moovers and Shakers, Co-Founder and Master Milkshaker: May 2011 – Present

  • Spread happiness via a mobile soda parlor that sells specialty milkshakes and ice cream floats
  • Engage customers through social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter
  • Build relationships in the Nashville community through festivals and food truck meet-ups
  • Raised $5000 through Kickstarter and $2000 in Belmont University’s Business Plan Competition

Universal Music Nashville, Digital Department Intern: August 2012 – Present

  • Perform content management for Universal Music Nashville websites
  • Update social media networks, artists websites, and upcoming mobile apps
  • Create, design, and analyze social media strategies for artists, singles, and releases

Here’s what I’ve done:

American Songwriter Magazine, Marketing Intern: May 2012 – August 2012

  • Updated social media networks and track fan engagement using Excel
  • Photoshoped graphics for American Songwriter,  American Songspace, and advertisements
  • Edited and posted music news articles on WordPress-based website

AloompaGraphics Intern: January 2012 – May 2012

  • Wireframed music apps for Bonnaroo, Kenny Chesney, and more using OmniGraffle
  • Designed/implemented social media campaign for “The Voice” contestant Nicolle Gaylon, who went from 500 Facebook “likes” to over 4000 in three months

Here’s what I have:

  • Superb communication skills—written and verbal and telepathic*
  • Specialize in social media/digital marketing: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Tumblr, Pinterest, WordPress
  • Self-taught yet stellar in entertainment-based programs: Photoshop, Final Cut, Audacity, OmniGraffle
  • A level of enthusiasm on the level of a litter of rambunctious puppies!
